The acting Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Subas Nirola, has ressumed his official duties on Wednesday.

He had not been able to attend office as he was barred from entering the NTB by the agitating tourism entrepreneurs who had been protesting for two months alleging him of corruption in the Board.

Nirola attended office today in line with the directive issued by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) which ordered the government to resume official works at the NTB.

He was welcomed by some employees and well-wishers when he entered the Board. Talking to journalists after resuming office, acting CEO Nirola said he would move forward to running the NTB that has remained closed for long due to the protests in coordination with the tourism entrepreneurs.

"Whether or not it is appropriate for the tourism entrepreneurs to hold a sensitive institution like the NTB hostage by leveling allegations against a person; The Board has incurred losses in millions due to the agitation. The answer to this question is not available here and who will answer this question," he asked.

Acting CEO Nirola also asked the tourism entrepreneurs to be serious for compensating the loss.

NTB started re-functioning on June 19 following the CIAA's three-day ultimatum to the government to resume works that remained stalled for 52 days due to the entrepreneurs' agitation.
