Kanchanpur, June 24: Three private schools in a VDC were found running illegally in Beldandi VDC of Kanchanpur district. Local Shuklaphanta Boarding School, Gurukul Boarding School and Modern Child School operating in the VDC are not registered at the District Education Office. The Joint Educational Monitoring Committee formed by the District Education Office (DEO), Kanchanpur, found the schools running illegally, said Chandra Kanta Bhatta, member of the Committee and chairman of the ANNISU-Revolutionary.

The private schools are also found collecting exorbitant fee without any physical infrastructures. During the monitoring campaign, the committee also found majority of teachers in different public schools remaining absent. Some of the schools including the Saraswati Secondary School, Jharnasagar, were found filling up the forms of the illegally run private schools for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination from the district. Meanwhile, the DEO, Kanchanpur, has closed the Hunainath Academy at Bhimdutta Municipality-6 after it was found running without registering at the DEO.
